ICOI Parent Teacher Student Organization

The goal of the Parent Teacher Student Organization at ICOI is to support a quality education and nurturing environment for all our children.  

In order to succeed, we need your help.  Please sign up and become a member and support all the wonderful programs we can provide for our children and our community.

The pioneers behind ICOI’s PTSO hope to provide information, assistance and program for the following:

  1. Islamic School Programs at ICOI
  2. Irvine Unified School District
  3. Interfaith Community Programs
  4. Educational and Beneficial Programs for our Families
  5. City of Irvine Events

Membership is only $5 per person for the year.  Joining today guarantee your membership for the 2011-2012 school year!  Plus, members and their children can enter many of our sponsored programs for free!!

HELP US GROW
Besides joining the PTSO, there are many ways you can help us:

  1. Direct Donation.  Please give generously to the PTSO.  We strive on providing our community with programs to enhance our lives.
  2. OC Register Fundraiser.  If you currently do not subscribe to the Sunday edition of the OC Register, you can now get a whole year’s subscription for only $1.  Ask for the OC Register flyer from the ICOI Office today and turn it in by May 20, 2011.  For each new subscription, ICOI’s PTSO will earn $10.  This is open to anyone within the OC Register’s delivery area.  Register your family and friends!
  3. Ralph’s Community Program.  If you shop at Ralph’s, most likely you have a Ralph’s membership card.  Connect that membership card to ICOI PTSO and help us earn money for free!  You do your regular shopping and Ralph’s gives back to us...it’s that simple.


PTSO SPONSORED PROGRAMS
Be sure to join so we can inform you of upcoming programs!  We are currently in the process of scheduling:

  1. OPEN FAITHS -  OPEN DOORS May 1 – 8, 2011 (exact date to be announced)
    1. Invite your friends and neighbors to visit ICOI and learn more about Islam.  This is a community wide event celebrated between Newport Beach, Irvine and Costa Mesa.  We will have guest speakers, activities and treats for our non-Muslim friends.
  2. BIG SUNDAY – May 14 – 15, 2011
    1. Big Sunday Weekend is when over 50,000 volunteers—some as individuals, others with their families, still others as part of a class, church, synagogue, mosque, business or club—lend a hand at more than 500 different projects in more than 100 different towns and cities, from San Diego to Santa Barbara, making Big Sunday Weekend one of the largest regional community service events in America.
  3. Family Astronomy Night.  Come out and view the stars and planets through incredible telescopes and learn how astronomy is reflected in Islam.  Members: Free.  Non-members:  $20 per family
  4. DISASTER PREPAREDNESS.  Are you and your family prepared for a disaster? Do you know what CERT is? During this event, you will experience what happens in a disaster, what you can do to prepare yourself and help others.  Members:  Free.  Non-members:  $5 per family
  5. Irvine Unified School District and Irvine Public School Foundation.  Representatives from these two organizations will come out and discuss what is going on with the current budget and what is being done to provide our children with the best in education.  Q & A session to follow presentation.
